I rebuilt kmid after installing the drumstick library from svn and
doing a "make clean ; cmake .. ; make; sudo make install."
It now complains <>.
I think this problem comes from building drumstick from subversion and
running make install as root. Or from kmid, after being reconfigured
to pickup the dynamically linked drumstick library ....I'm not sure
whether kmid or drumstick is the cause of the problem. I do know that
kmid from subversion built on it's own (prior to installing drumstick
lib) works fine. The problems in kmid started after installing
drumstick from svn and rebuilding kmid to pickup the dynamic library
Here's what it looks like running kmid with the problematic kmid_alsa.so
kmid(3222)/kdeui (kdelibs): Attempt to use QAction "show_volume_pitch"

Is there a change to /usr/share/kde4/services/kmid_alsa.desktop that
would allow kmid to start working again.?
Other than that, I can't seem to get kmid working again, even after
uninstalling everything, including drumstick libs, and trying to
rebuild the old static-drumstick version of kmid -- it fails in the
