It's a different model. I'm an "audio professional" in the television and
radio industry and I use Linux exclusively for anything that doesn't
depend on Windows drivers (i.e. mpeg-2 boards, closed caption boxes, etc,
etc). I also contribute to development of free and open audio software,
mostly in the internet radio direction. I've found there's less
product-centric focus and more creativity and support for degugging and
