I'll second specimen. You could, for example, load a bunch of loops
into one "bank" and set each one to be triggered by a single
(different) note. That would allow you to sequence them using a
keyboard, or better yet, a sequencer like seq24.
Route specimen's audio through jack-rack and the you can map your
controller knobs to (LADSPA) plug-in parameters, then do things like
filter sweeps, etc. The only problem with that setup is that specimen
doesn't provide dedicated outputs for each sample.
