LCDs much less electrically noisy than even small CRT monitors, I
don't have a studio, just line 6 guitar port, but I had annoying
interference when playing guitar (i.e. humming) with CRT I used to have
(which went away when I turned it off and was going down when guitar was
further from it so i am sure it was the monitor). However with 52 inch
CRT (sony bravia xbr4) I didn't detect any interference.
Not sure what you mean by low resolution, 1920x1080 seems to be
reasonable resolution, most 20+ inch monitors have 1920x1200 which is
not that much of a difference.
