NI might be discontinuing support for kontakt but that doesn't mean people =
will be left short if they don't jump onto maschine. ableton's own sampler =
is capable of dealing with kontakt files as are some others (i think). some=
people will go over to maschine but most will just continue to use what wo=
rks for them=2C most people who make music will just settle on what works f=
or them. until recently jon hopkins was using cubase sx3 and cool edit pro =
on a 10yr old laptop=2C he had the means and resources to upgrade but didn'=
t.
funnily enough the one linux music making package i think that fulfills the=
all-in-one program criteria is probably the one least mentioned and least =
liked by the linux audio community=2C LMMS. i reckon you could get quite a =
few people used to using windows music programs and they would get on with =
LMMS.
