the instrument <> GM mapping is in fact already described in the manual
(see http://www.hydrogen-music.org/hcms/node/5#sect.pattern_editor.drumkit)
there is however nothing in the manual that encourages the user to comply
with the GM mapping > i'll add that asap

You can switch drum-kits easily then and find out which of it matches
best to a song,
without re-assignment of sounds.=
