Simply open the setup window, and select the "seq" option for the midi
driver. This will make it show up in both the ALSA and the MIDI tab. You
should be warned that it will not be properly labeled in the MIDI tab, as
now *everything* in the ALSA tab will also show up in the MIDI tab, just
with generic names.

However, as for what you *want*, it depends on what applications you are
trying to use it with. the ALSA tab is simply for applications using ALSA
MIDI. The MIDI tab is simply for applications using jackd MIDI. In
general it's fine to connect applications/keyboards in either of those
tabs, the only important thing is that whatever two
applications/controllers you want to connect show up in a common tab.

Hi.

Probably a beginner question but Google did not help me this time.

I am using Fedora17. I do have a M-Audio Axiom 49 connected via USB<-&gt=
;USB.

I am using qjackctl and whenever I connect the M-Audio device to the comput=
er it gets connected via ALSA instead of appearing in the MIDI tab. But the=
latter is what I want, isn't it?

What do I need to change?

Many thanks in advance!
